Unbeaten century of opening batsman Gautam Gambhir came handy and helped beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in the last round robin match of tri-series. After this victory in last league match of the tri-series, India will clash with archrivals Pakistan on Saturday in final.
Earlier in the match, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. With the help of Raqibul Hasan’s brilliant 89-run knock Bangladesh scored 222 runs in 49.5 overs. R P Singh took three wickets for 46 runs.

India, chasing the modest target of 222 runs, finished the match well before 14.5 overs still to go. Gautam Gambhir of India, in partnership with Virender Sehwag, showed all the corners of the ground to the Bangladeshi fielders. Sehwag smashed 58 runs while Gautam Gambhir remained unbeaten on 107 runs. Indian batsmen plundered 85 runs in the first ten overs.
