The selection committee of BCCI has announced a 15-man squad for the two-Test series against England scheduled to be held in Chennai on 11 December. India has inducted Yuvraj Singh in the test squad. The 26-year-old middle order batsman was in the peak form in the aborted one-day series against England. By scoring successive centuries in the one-day series, the hard-hitter batsman have grabbed the spot created by Sourav Ganguly's retirement.

Apart from Yuvraj, left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha has also been picked up in the test squad. However, left-arm seamer RP Singh failed to make his place in the national squad. Yuvraj, who made his Test debut against New Zealand in October 2003 has a very inconsistent test career. He has been dropped and picked up for innumerable times. His last test performance against Australia is also not very satisfactory. In that test series, he was twice out for duck and made only 17 runs in two Tests. All his centuries in test matches came against Pakistan.

The 22-year-old Ojha who has taken five wickets in five ODI is yet to make his debut in the longer format. He is supposed to provide cover for Harbhajan Singh and new leg spinner Amit Mishra in the upcoming test match series against England.

India squad: Mahendra Dhoni (capt & wk), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Amit Mishra, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Subramaniam Badrinath, Munaf Patel, Murali Vijay, Pragyan Ojha
