Imran Khan is celebrating his first birthday after marriage today with his newlywed wife Avantika Malik and his whole family in Thailand. He turned 28 today.

 

This is the first time in the past three years that the actor got some time to spend his birthday in a relaxed way with his family because all these years he was busy with his work.

 

It was speculated that soon after the marriage, Imran’s uncle Aamir Khan would organise a grand reception party for the newlyweds. However, it seems the reception will have to wait till Aamir’s upcoming flick Dhobi Ghat is released.

 

Aamir said to a source, "Yes, I do want to host a big reception but I have not thought of any date yet. There is no time to have any such event now. It is too close to the release of Dhobi Ghat on January 21. The countdown has begun for us. Both Kiran and I will be travelling for the film's promotions. She will also be touring with the cast. So any such plans are on hold for now."

 

He added, "We are the only two members of the family who are not with the newly-weds for their marriage celebrations in Thailand. Even going for a day was not proving to be feasible as we have our outstation commitments for Dhobi Ghat promotions."
