The OBC student candidate is required to produce parent income certificate at the time of counseling for admission.

Across IITs 880 students would be taken into the premier institute in the current academic session. In a proper phased out manner the IITs have decide to attain the target of 27 percent reservation for OBC’s by 2010 by implementing 9 percent reservation after each successive year. Surendra Prasad, IIT Delhi Director remarked that till the time the government doesn’t issue some other criteria for defining the creamy layer, the IITs will follow the existing policy used in reservation of jobs.
