Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi has been accused by an IIT graduate Ashutosh Kumar of replicating his website, which tracks down unlodged First Information Reports (FIRs). This claim has been rejected by Kiran Bedi. Ashutosh Kumar has alleged that Bedi’s website saferindia.com is a copy of his own website finerindia.com, which was introduced 10 days before her site was launched over the Internet.  

 

The IIT graduate Kumar has stated that he is going to send a legal notice to Kiran Bedi in this regard. He has also demanded that the phrase 'Mission Safer India is a pioneering management' be deleted from Bedi’s website saferindia.com as it was his website that was launched first to track unlodged FIRs and is therefore misleading. Kiran Bedi has responded saying that her website was created not to track unlodged FIRs but to assist citizens in connecting with the police. She further added that the internet is nobody’s monopoly.
