Finally there is some good news for IIM aspirants. IIM Lucknow has decided that it will not hike its course fees. Recently IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore have increased their fee structure, which has received a mixed response. The chairman of the board of governors at IIM Lucknow, Mr. JJ Irani, said that there will be no fees hike as the institution has already increased the fees by Rs 50,000. He declined to comment on the fees structure of other IIMs, but made it clear that IIM Lucknow will not increase its course fees. The current fees for 2 year MBA course in IIM Lucknow is Rs 2.5 lakh.
The Director of IIM Lucknow, Mr. Devi Singh, said that the institution has invested in improving the infrastructure and is ready to implement the 27% OBC reservation in the coming academic year. The institution has prepared itself to take around 50 students if the reservation is implemented.
The news is certainly going to be a ray of hope for those students whose dreams of studying in the IIMs could have been shattered by the enormous fees hike.
