The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) Director Pankaj Chandra has informed that the institute has added 150 more seats; 75 each in PGP (Post Graduate Program) and in executive program. Mr Chandra was speaking on the occasion of the 35th Foundation Day. IIIMB established in the year 1973, is the most sought institute for management studies.
Mr Chandra said that under expansion program, the number of students in the institute in its various long-duration programmes will exceed to 1,100. He added that starting December, IIM-B will start construction of a hostel with 300 rooms, nine classrooms as part of the state-of-the-art green classroom complex, 24 faculty houses and a sports complex.
IIM B head said that the institute is expanding its strength for it is need of the nation. IIMs across the country have been criticized for having a large pool of resources and still catering just few hundred students. They have been asked to maximize the utility of infrastructure available for training and producing better human resource for the country.
