The rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) has expressed its desire to add an English team to their side. Kapil Dev, the head of the executive board of the ICL said that he would love to have a team either from London or  Birmingham  playing for the ICL. He further said that if he is given the money and chance he would definitely add one English team to the  league.

Kapil also said that he would also love to have a team from South Africa, West Indies and Australia. Recently, the ICL has hosted several tournaments, the latest one being the ICL 20 -20 World Series. It is to be noted that the ICL is not recognized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), BCCI and other Crcket boards of test playing nations. The players joining ICL have been banned by their respective boards. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had earlier declared that it would ban any player from county cricket for a season if they join the rebel league, but later withdrew from their decision.

Meanwhile, the BCCI is to start its own twenty20 league, the Indian Premier League (IPL), which will kick off from April 18, 2008, in Bangalore.
