The risk is looming on the fate of successful completion of Champion’s Trophy in Pakistan. Earlier some countries including of South Africa, England, Australia, and New Zealand had opposed Pakistan as venue for the championship in front of ICC. However, ICC did not give so much importance to the contention given by opposing countries and signaled green to Pakistan for holding the tournament.
Now, as has been the apprehension from opposition camp that law and order situation in Pakistan is not up to the mark and their players might be in danger, showing their grievance and concern opposing countries might not be sending some of their players. English team disclosing its plan said that any decision would be taken after the consultation with the player and key stake holders.
Similarly, commenting cautiously on the issue Australia's cricketing spokesperson Peter Young said that player’s safety has always been their primary concern. On the other hand the South African Cricketers Association expects of a meeting with the South African board to reach any decision on the issue of their participation in the tournament.
