IBM, the largest IT services company in the world said on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 that it has started selling software that enables their customers to access its Cognos business intelligence software via BlackBerry mobile devices. The Cognos program allows customers to view real time analytics on the state of their business on their BlackBerry. The program sells at a list price of US$300 per user.
 
Research in Motion (RIM), the device maker is encouraging companies to create software specifically for the BlackBerry, so that it can improve usage beyond messaging, e-mail and calendar and phone services for which it is best known. In the meanwhile, IBM has also introduced a programme that allows BlackBerry users to swiftly locate and communicate with colleagues with expertise in specific business area. The company also revealed that a third new product from the company allows users to access personalized content from their corporate websites via the BlackBerry.
