The Indian road is soon going to get one more new 800 cc car. This time from the stable of the Hyundai Motor India, the wholly owned subsidiary of South Korea's Hyundai Motor Company. This information was revealed by an official from the Hyundai Motor India, who said that the car will hit the road in the next three to four years.

H S Lheem, the managing director of Hyundai Motor India, informed that the proposed car will be more compact than Santro and will compete in the 800 cc segment. It is being presently studied upon and developed by a group of Indian Korean engineers at Hyderabad and Namyang. Lheem underscored that the Hyundai Motor India's 800 cc car will be for both local as well as the foreign customers.

When the MD of Hyundai Motor India was queried if their new 800 cc car would be pitched against the Maruti 800, he responded that the 'Maruti car is an old one'. It is at the soon-to-be-held Paris Motor Show where the Hyundai Motor will unveil its next model 'i20'. H S Lheem said that the new i20 car will come to India by year end and exported later on.
