Riding high on the successful launch of its hatchback i10 in India, the Hyundai Company has announced that it is planning to introduce its bigger siblings soon under i-series. Deriving inspiration from the German luxury cars BMW and Mercedes Benz, which as quite popular in the country, Hyundai has said that it will introduce at least three new i-Series cars in the domestic and global markets. So cars lovers in India can now look forward to the launch of i20 sometime around October this year.
The i30 and i40 cars, on the other hand, will arrive in the country in the next couple of years. Industry insiders state that these new Hyundai cars could also be made to replace the existing products. HS Lheem, the HMI managing director and CEO, has stated that the company plans to bring their complete range of i-Series cars to India. He also mentioned that he saw i30 and i40 as having a lot of potential in India. At the same time, Lheem said that even the i10 portfolio would get be provided a fresh engine and automatic transmission in the coming months.
