The Hyundai Motors India (HMI), which is the second largest car manufacturer in the country, declared on Monday, 9 June that it is introducing the CNG variant of its mid-size sedan ‘Accent’. It was underscored that the CNG version of Accent will cost Rs 56,500 more than the existing petrol variant, which is presently pegged at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom). In a statement issued by the Hyundai Company, it was informed that the new Accent would be available in dual fuel mode — petrol and CNG.
 
The statement issued by the Hyundai India added that the Accent comes equipped with a 1.5 litre petrol engine, which will see no adaptation in order to make it compatible with CNG. The HMI has collaborated up with a prominent Korean CNG kit supplier CEV. The company highlighted that the CNG kit is not only safe, but also guarantees to meet Euro III emission norms through an enhanced Lambda control system.
