Car giant Honda, launched its compact car, Jazz, in the Indian market. With this, Honda Siel, a joint venture between Honda and India’s Siel Limited, has made a foray into the small car segment. This segment is dominated by Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motor.

Jazz would initially be manufactured at Honda Siel’s factory at Greater Noida. The hatchback would come with a single engine at present. The 1200 cc VTEC engine is compatible with Euro-IV. The car is equipped with ABS brakes. There are two front airbags, which act as an important feature when the safety of the car is considered. The seats are adjustable according to the comfort level of the occupants. The wheel base is of 14 inches.

The car produces maximum power of 94 PS at 6200 rpm and torque of 127 Nm at 3400 rpm. The car comes in three variants Jazz Basic, Jazz Mode, and Jazz Active. The price of Basic is Rs 6.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Jazz Mode is a family utility car with side mouldings, corner protectors to prevent scratches, mud flaps, and stylish garnishes. The car would cost Rs 7.28 lakh. The Active variant is sporty in its looks with sport pedals, fog lamps, front grille, and a spoiler at the top of the tailgate. The car is priced at Rs 7.33 lakh.
