Home Minister P Chidambaram will pay a visit to Jammu & Kashmir on Wednesday for reviewing the security situation of the state along with the assessment of efforts being taken for rehabilitating Kashmiri Pandit migrants.
"He is visiting Jammu for a day on Nov 4," state Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla.
Chidambaram will also be visiting Jagti for monitoring development of the ultra modern satellite township, which is being developed for rehabilitating the Kashmiri Pandit migrants.
"Chidambaram wants to have first hand assessment of the progress of the relief and rehabilitation effort," Bhalla said. The home minister will also be interacting with Kashmir Pandit leaders.
This will be the minister's second visit to Jammu and Kashmir in less than a month. He was in Srinagar for two days in October to review the security situation and had also invited "all shades of opinion" for talks - which was described as a positive development by the separatists and others.
