Hockey India (HI) has formed a new selection committee on Wednesday comprising of representatives from both men and women's fraternity of the game. The five member full-fledged unified panel includes three men and two women.
 
The panel comprises of Olympians Balbir Singh, former India captain B.P.Govinda and goalkeeper Muneer Sait.The two women in the new committee are internationals, 1982 Asian Games gold medallist Madhu Yadav and former India captain Sita Mehta, nee Gusain.
 
All the three selectors in the ad hoc committee, Aslam Sher Khan, Ashok Kumar and Dhanraj Pillay, have not been included in the new panel.
 
Former India captains Ajit Pal Singh and Zafar Iqbal who are the government nominees will continue as selectors.
 
The term period of the selectors will be 1 year, said HI secretary-general Aslam Khan.
 
The dissolution of the ad hoc committee formed in the wake of the supersession of the Indian Hockey federation presided over by K.P.S.Gill last year led to the formation of the new selection committee.
