Mumbai, the 'Bollywood' city of India, saw the launch of Montero 09 on March 25, 2009. With this, Hindustan Motors and Japan-based Mitsubishi Motors finally unveiled their premium sport utility vehicle (SUV) before the Indian customers. Montero was initially launched by Mitsubishi in the Indian market four years ago. Till date, the automobile has sold around 600 units. Now, the company has come up with a new version of the model - Montero 09, priced at Rs. 41.94 lakh (ex-showroom).
Montero Sport 2009 boasts of astonishing looks and impressive performance. The premier SUV will come equipped with chrome-plated front grill and seven spoke 17” light alloy wheels. It also flaunts Yokohama tubeless radials and is said to be capable of extreme off-roading. Montero 09 will be imported from Japan, with neither its assembling, nor its manufacture taking place in India. As per R. Santhanam - Hindustan Motors Managing Director, Mumbai presents the fastest growing market for the company and the launch was aimed at building a sustainable, successful business out there.
