Hindustan Construction-led consortium won a Rs 1415-crore highway construction project. According to company sources, under the proposed project a six-lane highway will be built to connect the states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The 96.5-km highway will start from the Maharashtra border along National Highway 3 and end up at Dhule. The proposed highway will be constructed on a build-operate-transfer basis with an 18-year concession period.
 
Apart from Hindustan Construction Co. (HCC), other companies involved in the construction project include Britain-based John Laing Investment and Sadbhav Engineering of Ahmedabad. Hindustan Construction has announced to make an investment of Rs 524 crore in the highway project. One of the leading infrastructure construction companies, HCC has accomplished several important development works of India over the past eighty years. The company also has the credit of constructing world's longest barrage called Farakka Barrage.
