The setting up of 18 industrial projects worth Rs 31 billion has received green signal from the Himachal Pradesh government. This decision was taken in a state level meeting on window clearance and monitoring authority on September 26, 2008. The chairman of the meeting was the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, Prem Kumar Dhumal. Among the 18 industries that will set their units in the state include Solaryan Technologies, Indorama Industries, Pidilite Industries, Meditech Garments, Advantage Organic Naturals Technologies and Crew BOS Products.
According to sources, Solaryan Technologies will be investing Rs 24 billion, while Indorama Industries has been allowed to invest Rs four billion in Himachal Pradesh. Solaryan Technologies will be engaged in producing thin film silicon solar panel. The setting up of industrial units in state will help to generate more and more employment opportunities in Himachal Pradesh. The state with commendable tourism industry will get a fillip if all the industrial units start to operate smoothly.
