US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be holding talks with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow so that she can urge him to support the US for further sanctions on Iran.
She had warned earlier that the world will not allocate more time for Iran to prove itself. Iran had recently disclosed its second uranium plant in Tehran, whose aim, it insists, is for peaceful process.
Clinton may also be holding talks with Russian counterpart, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. She will also ask for the form of support Russia is ready to provide, if Iran fails to keep up its word.
Even though Russia had earlier said that it will support US, it seems like Medvedev have changed his vies after Tehran revealed the second uranium facility.
Clinton's visit comes at a crucial moment in relations between the United States and Russia in Moscow.
US President Barack Obama had vowed to make the relationship between the two nations amiable after his meeting with the Russian President in July. US had even scrapped its plans for implementing missiles in Poland and the radar station in the Czech Republic.
US officials mention that they expect Russia no to oppose, if not support, the steps adopted by their government against Iran.
But Russia has consistently been mentioning that it does not have belief that sanctions will be of any use.
