Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, who until recently was contesting rival Senator Barack Obama for the US Presidential seat, has now decided to support the latter on Saturday 7 June, bringing her 17-month campaign for the White House to a close. This decision was taken up by Senator Clinton after Democrats advised her on Wednesday 4 June that she bow out of the Presidential race and permit the party to coalesce around Obama. One of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s key strategists, Howard Wolfson has informed that she will voice her support for Barack Obama and party unity during an event in Washington.
One of the advisors went on to state that Senator Hillary Clinton will accept failure, congratulate Mr Obama and pronounce him as the party nominee. The advisor further added that Clinton will also promise to do what is required to ensure the win of Barack Obama in the US Presidential race. This crucial decision to back out from the Presidential race was taken by Hillary and her aides after few of her most staunch and powerful supporters such as former Vice President Walter F. Mondale informed that they were now supporting Mr Obama.
