Bollywood’s living legend Amitabh Bachchan, who was supposed to walk the ramp on Oct 11 at the HDIL India Couture Week for designers Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, will not be adorning the ramp as the designer duo have pulled out of the show.
The organizers of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) event were so miffed by this attitude that they have criticized the designers in public.
"To back out a day before their show is most unprofessional and regrettable. The rest of the event will continue as per the schedule and the Couture Week will now begin on Monday," the FDCI statement said.
The FDCI sources claim that FDCI is not happy with the way HDIL event management has handled the things.
"It seems they asked for too many front row seats. Obviously, this demand could not be accommodated," the source said.
The others, who, were supposed to showcase the collections of the duo included Tabu, Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik and Suzanne Roshan.
The couture week will now begin Monday with a jewellery show by designer Queenie Dhondy, Farah Khan, Maheep Kapoor and Devaunshi Mehta.
