HCL has released a new set of netbooks and notebooks under the brand name ‘ME’. The new brand is an acronym of Mobile Excitement, which is intended to reflect the persona of current gen.
The new netbooks offer options like in-built 'One Touch' service and also comes with service and self recovery options. The 'One Touch support' and 'One Touch Recovery' have been incorporated into the product.
The other features which are being flaunted by the new HCL netbook series include Split ME, Lock ME, Secure ME and Encrypt MEe.
Split ME helps in sharing of the data without worrying about the size of the file. Lock ME ensures safety of data by blocking the copying of data to external storage devices like pen drives, disks etc. The data transfer is possible only with the authorization from the users.
Similarly, the user can lock any application installed in the PC by using the Secure ME option. Encrypt ME allows the user to encrypt their data and avoids unauthorized access of the data. So data theft can be checked by using this tool. Apart from that, the new range of laptops feature some advanced techniques like finger print recognition and face recognition.
