Delhi High Court is likely to announce its verdict on the sting operation in the BMW hit and run case. Evidently, NDTV in its sting investigation had exposed a nexus between prosecution and defense lawyer and witness, i.e. defense lawyer RK Anand persuading a witness Sunil Kulkarni to change his testimony to save Sanjeev Nanda in collusion with public prosecutor I U Khan.

 

However, there has been perpetual denial from both the lawyers on the authenticity of the tapes. Both Anand and Khan have alleged that the said tapes are doctored. Notwithstanding what they say, they have been contradicted for their contradictory statements on the issue of their conversation with witness Kulkarni.

 

Evidently, the court after watching those videos reached onto the conclusion that they are not doctored, and are admissible as evidence to prove the crime. The after impact of the sting operation was immense on judiciary and taking cognizance of the crime in bar the court had suspended public prosecutor and had commented that this is a dangerous trend in the criminal justice system.
