Harvard University has grabbed first position in the list of top colleges in USA. The report was carried out by U.S. News & World Report. U.S. News has been carrying out the study of the nation's colleges and universities with their rankings for last 25 years. Harvard University is considered the oldest and wealthiest university in USA; is one of the best choices among business students.
Evidently, Harvard has reached on the top after twelve years in the list, which has predominantly been dominated by likes of Yale, Princeton, MIT. Now, under this year's study, Princeton which has been on top for continuously eight years has slipped to No. 2. On the other hand another top university of US, Yale is standing at No. 3. MIT and Stanford jointly are at fourth rank.
Among public universities in US, the University of California, Berkeley has topped the list of the public universities. However, in a separate list for liberal arts colleges, Amherst College of Management has moved up one spot and equaled the rank with Williams College for the top position. Arguably, the rank of any college and institute has been decided on the basis of SAT scores, peer reputation, selectivity and alumni giving.
