Here is some good news for Democratic Party candidate Barack Obama. A survey conducted by Harvard’s institute of politics says that young voters prefer him over Hillary Clinton. Obama lost to Clinton in Pennsylvania Primary but still has more delegates than Clinton. 70 % of democrats between the age group of 18 to 24 favored Obama whereas only 30 % favored Clinton.
Jim Leach, the director of Harvard's institute of Politics and a former Republican congressman said that the young voters will play a very crucial role in determining as to who will become the next president of the USA. However, both the candidates emerged victorious in the survey against Senator John McCain. The polls conducted online by the institute showed Obama was favored by 50 % voters whereas McCain gained only 29% votes.
The online polls showed that Clinton would beat McCain by 41% to 34%. Young voters will play an extremely important role in states where McCain can attract old people. However, the polls have no indication that the supporters of Obama and Clinton will not vote if both of them are not nominated. It is to be noted that Obama has inspired many young voters to vote in the primaries.
