Legend Harrison Ford will be honoured with Kirk Douglas Award at the 2010 Santa Barbara International Films Festival. The actor is bestowed with the honor for his excellence and contribution in cinema.
 
The award will be presented to Ford by none other than the icon Kirk Douglas on Nov 19 at the ceremony in Santa Barbara, California.
 
“I’m delighted to give this award to Harrison Ford. It’s always a pleasure to honour these young actors who do so well,” Douglas was quoted as saying.
 
The 68-year old actor is worldwide known for his performances as Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy and as the title character of the Indiana Jones film series.  He also earned Oscar nomination for his outstanding performance in ‘Witness’.
 
His four-decade career also includes roles in several other blockbusters, including Presumed Innocent, The Fugitive, Air Force One, and What Lies Beneath.
