Among the different sources of aid flowing into the land of Haiti in the wake of the devastating earthquake, the Red Crescent Authority (RCA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has a significant role to play. The sources report that RCA has distributed 45 tonnes of relief items among the Haiti quake victims as part of its relief measures.
Around 1,500 families are reported to have received the aid from RCA. The aids included basic necessities like blankets, tents and food and were distributed in the Croix des Bouquets area, three kilometers from Port au Prince.
Humaid Al-Shamsi, head of the RCA delegation in Haiti, said that during the early days of the relief measures, RCA concentrated on providing all necessary helps to the injured victims and also improving the capacities of the hospitals and the health centers. He also added that the relief aids from the organization will increase in the future. Earlier, RCA extended 145 tonnes of relief materials to the Caribbean nation.
