Gujjar leaders have agreed for dialogue over the reservation issue with state representatives to be sent by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Earlier, Raje had rejected for any dialogue with protesting leaders. Later on Raje moderated her stand and agreed to send state representatives for talk with Gujjar leaders. Until now there has not been confirmation of names of representatives, assumptions are made that OP Mathur (state BJP president), and Ramdas Agarwal (National Treasurer BJP) could participate in it.
While Gujjars have agreed for talk, the strength of the delegation is an issue. While state has asked for just one dozen delegates, Gujjars have submitted the list of 45 delegates. Government has further appealed protesting leaders to send only Rajasthan’s Gujjar delegates and not of neighbouring states. Earlier, protesting Gujjar leader Bainsla softened his demand and said that outcome of talks would depend on the community’s acceptability of proposals made by state government. The talk will take place at Bayana, the epicenter of protest.
