That the film Cloverfield is doing well can be easily gauged by the fact that it has already been nominated for four awards. ‘The producers of the film were looking for authentic Indian music. And, they settled for my rendition of Pankhida, a popular Gujarati folk song for the movie's background score, gushed an enthusiastic Lekha Ratnakumar.
The Gujrati folk song Pankhida O Pankhida was composed as well as recorded at Music Library, which caters to all leading audio and video production houses. The Pankhida song in the Cloverfield movie is also there in the music album titled 'India Today - Bhangra and Dandiya'. The very first line of the song is Pankhida O Pankhida Udine Jajo Pavagadh Re, Mahakali Ne Jai Ne Kahejo Garabe Rame R e' and it means O bird, you fly to Pavagadh and ask Goddess Durga to do the garba.
In Cloverfield , this Gujarati folk song has been used in the background score when a group of friends throw a party for a character called Rob.
