The Centre has warned the citizens against possible terror attacks in five cities of India, which are expected to take place around the first anniversary of Mumbai terror attacks.
"The Intelligence Bureau has received some inputs from state governments that terrorists were trying to infiltrate through the Indian west coast and target vital installations in the country’, revealed a Home Ministry official to a news channel.
The state governments have been given the orders for boosting the security in and around railway stations, airports as well as other significant places.
Sources from Home Ministry have expressed doubts regarding investigations on various Indian cities conducted by David Coleman Headley during his stay in the country between 2006 and 2009, for launching these attacks.
This Home Ministry alert is based on the inputs available from FBI, which they obtained while interrogating David Headley. It is supported by Indian intelligence agencies’ inputs.
Reports have mentioned that Headley was in Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Agra and Ahmedabad between 2006 and 2009 and hence the alerts are mainly for these cities.
