First it was the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati who got the top notch police officers - IG of Meerut Zone Gurdarshan Singh, the DIG of Meerut Range PC Meena and Noida SSP Satish Ganesh – working on the Noida double murder case transferred for ‘shoddy’ investigation. Now it is Renuka Choudhry, the Women and Child Development Minister, who has lambasted the police overlooking the case for allegedly slandering the character of the murdered teenager, Arushi Talwar.
The Women and Child Development Minister, infact, summoned a meeting of her advisory group on Monday 2 June to discuss the legal facets of this case and to find out if a defamatory action can be slapped against those responsible for maligning Arushi’s character. The Noida police infact is getting criticized from all sides for the usage of offensive language while narrating the sequence of events in Arushi’s murder during a recent press conference following her father’s Dr Rajesh Talwar’s arrest. Consequently, the Arushi murder case has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
