Google is coming up with wireless Internet service on mobile phones with its Android software. Android software is taking against Symbian (Microsoft's Windows Mobile), and Apple Inc's iPhone. However, according to Andy Rubin, Director (Mobile Platform) Google, Android's success hinges on the reception of the first phone which is coming in this month end.

Rubin further said that the production is in final stage, and he is happy with the results. According to reports, T-Mobile USA is expected to introduce the first Android phone in New York on Sept 23. Android would be coming up after lots of pressure to deliver a product sufficiently different from Apple Inc's iPhone, and other similar products.

Rubin further said that Google has worked almost exclusively with Taiwan's High Tech Computer Corp (HTC) and T-Mobile for the first Android phone, and if it comes out with a dud, people will go as they would consider it wastage of time. Evidently, the Android browser is built on the same technology as the new Google Chrome browser. However, it is made for smaller screens.
