Google's Nexus S, which is set to launch in this December, will come equipped with Google Maps 5.0, a mapping application that assists users in finding directions.

Google Maps 5.0 is a much improved version in the Google Maps lineup. Google Maps 5.0 now allows users to view buildings and landscape in 3D, which offers rich screening experience and lets users better understand the directions. Besides, users can also check for traffic reports.

With just days left for the Nexus S’ launch, much speculations are going around the smartphone’s features. The phone, which was officially launched on December 6, 2010, will hit market for sales starting this December 16th in the United States, while in the United Kingdom, the phone will be launched on December 20.

“Nexus S delivers what we call a 'pure Google' experience: unlocked, unfiltered access to the best Google mobile services and the latest and greatest Android releases and updates,” Google vice president of engineering Andy Rubin said in a statement.

As Google’s Nexus One was only a moderate to low success model, Google is working to make its Nexus S a highly successful model. The phone was designed by Google and manufactured by Samsung.
