Google is known for introducing new features to its already popular internet service. Recently, it has added Google Wave Notifier Add-on to create a wave among the chatters.
Google Wave is principally a combination of real-time communication platform, email, instant messaging and chat rooms with project management features.
It is the first such service to be introduced by the Google development team. Chad Smith, the man behind the development of this product has been instrumental in designing this feature. Previously he had created a handy tool to notify Google Voice users if they had a new voice mail in their inbox.
The Google Wave Notifier works similar to any other notification add-on and tools.
The new service starts by entering the account data of the Google Wave account in the add-on’s settings. However, it will work only if you part your account data. Then the user will be notified of new Google Wave messages in Firefox. The add-on places an icon ‘W’ in the Firefox status bar to show the number of unread messages. The user can click the icon to read the messages.
It’s a nice idea to have many Add-ons and extensions to make Google a leader in technology improvement. Still Wave Notifier is better an Add-on than Extension, which works inside the individual messages.
