Incase you are operating a website, then you can choose to make many new friends! Website owners were recently apprised that they can add data about their users from MySpace and Facebook. Google put forward its own perspective on this issue on Monday 11 May through introduction of Google Friend Connect. Google says this new program will assist minor websites to add simple features of a social networking site, without employing complex programming.

The second key feature of Google’s new Google Friend Connect program is that it will provide small websites a series of links to other sites such as AOL, Yahoo and Facebook for different functions. This new program of Google is still in the preliminary stage and therefore a lot of crucial details are yet to be determined. However, it does put forth certain features that will interest the minor websites. For instance, Friend Connect provides users a simple method to log in as they can just use existing user names from AOL, Yahoo, Google or any other sites.

Apart from this, users can connect with one or more social websites they are a member of like LinkedIn, Plaxo, Hi5, Facebook and so on. Yet anther facility they can avail is that users can make use of Google Talk instant message system. The owners of small websites who are interested in availing the benefits of Google Friend Connect can do so through adding Google’s OpenSocial applications.
