Google has launched the Street View Service for major Canadian cities including Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Ottawa. Previously, this service was available only for five US cities.
Google Street View allows users to navigate between the places in as many as 14 countries worldwide. This service was rolled out in 2007. Since then, it has been criticized for infringing users' privacy. Now, Google has addressed that issue to ensure the citizen’s privacy.
According to company sources, Street View Service will offer all the images from the public places. But, the identifiable images and licence plates will be blurred to retain user privacy. It also offers to remove the images on the request from the users via ‘Report a problem’.
