Leading search engine, Google has introduced new improved Gmail service for iPhone and Android phones. The revamped Gmail service will allow faster access to email and offline support. Google has brought two improvements to mobile Gmail. First of all, it has introduced keyboard shortcuts to its Android devices in the same fashion as its web application. With help of the shortcuts, the mobile Gmail users can go to inbox just by pressing 'u' and by pressing 'n' one can move to a newer mail.
This new development will provide easier and faster navigation. The second improvement is faster address auto-completion. With the help of this facility, one can get the desired contacts just by typing the first few letters of a friend's name or email address. The mobile Gmail will display couple of options from which one can choose the required contacts. This improvised version of Gmail for mobile browsing is expected to enhance the connectivity and high-speed limitations.
The new mobile Gmail version will run on iPhone/iPod Touch OS 2.2.1 or above, as well as all Android-powered devices. Google has also informed that it has updated the user interface so as to make it faster to open messages. The updated interface will allow to perform batch actions like archiving multiple messages at once. The search engine also stated that the archiving of e-mail would be quicker from the iPhone or Android browser, because it does not require a response from a remote server.
