The mobile market is abuzz with the news that Google's internet phone G1 is going to be available in Indian stores by December 2008. Endowed with Android software the new G1 will be launched in India by Taiwan-based handset company, High Tech Computer (HTC). The initial price of Google's internet mobile will be higher than company's price of $ 179.
Talking to media, country manager of HTC (India), Ajay Sharma said that HTC is planning to enter in to collaboration with a mobile operator in India before the launch of G1 in the market. The price of the new phone is supposed to be high in India because the Indian market does not work on the handset subsidy model, informed Sharma.
With a slide out keyboard, the new Google phone looks a lot like an iPhone. The Android software incorporated in G1 enables Google's search engine and other services to become accessible to the users. Besides these, other prominent features that the new Google phone incorporates are high resolution screen, which makes it easier to browse Websites and mapping programs.
