The much-touted Google Nexus S smartphone is soon expected to hit Indian markets, sources said.
 
According to sources, the Google Nexus S smartphone is likely to be shipped to two of the major sellers in India- Flipkart and Infibeam. The two retailers reportedly have shown Google Nexus S on their websites as ‘coming soon’.
 
The Nexus S is the first smartphone with Android 2.3 ‘Gingerbread’ operating system. The phone supports NFC in both hardware and software. The Nexus S phone was officially launched on December 6, 2010.
 
In the US, the phone has been sold at $530 by Best Buy while in India it is expected at around Rs. 24,000. In UK, the phone is being carried by O2 UK, T-Mobile UK, Orange UK and Vodafone UK.
 
Nexus S’ nearest competitor Samsung Galaxy S, has already made its entry into the market, and is also a successful model in India.
