The 47-year-old Rajeev Motwani who was instrumental in the creation of the Internet search engine Google has been found dead in a swimming pool at his California home. According to police sources, Motwani was drowned in a freak accident. His friends informed that he was unable to swim and was planning to learn it. As per other sources, the computer science professor might have accidentally fallen into the swimming pool while returning from his work.
 
Rajeev Motwani was a professor of computer science at Stanford University. He played a crucial role in helping Google's founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, when they were studying at Stanford University. His body was recovered from the swimming pool on Friday (June 5).
 
Rajeev Motwani was born in Jammu and Kashmir and grew up in New Delhi. He procured his computer science degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur in 1983 and later moved to United States for his doctorate in computer science at the University of California, Berkeley. Motwani is survived by his wife, Asha Jadeja, and two daughters. 

While paying his tribute to Prof Motwani, Sergey Brin said that he led many researches that contributed to the advancement of computing. According to Brin, today every piece of technology has a little bit of contribution from Motwani. Sergey Brin stated that the professor had immensely helped them in their research for the development of Google.
