Carving a niche in the arena of web browsing, Google has launched its web browser Chrome, which would give a tough competition to Microsoft's web browser. Chrome, according to Google sources would be available to download from Tuesday in more than 100 countries for computers running on Microsoft's Windows operating system.

The rivalry between Microsoft and Google is not new, and earlier has tried to thwart latter by investing billions in the development of its own search engine and making an unsuccessful attempt to buy Yahoo Inc for $47.5 billion. Google on the other hand, has been trying to undermine Internet Explorer by supporting Firefox that is a web browser developed by the open-source Mozilla Foundation.

Sundar Pichai, (VP) (Product Management), and Linus Upson, (Engineering Director) from Google jointly said that Google Chrome is another option, and we hope it contributes to making the Web even better. They both added that the Web gets better with more options and innovation. On the other hand, Dean Hachamovitch, (GM) Internet Explorer has brushed aside the threat posed by Google.
