Google Inc has introduced voice and video chat features in its existing Gmail email service. With the help of the new features, the users can talk to their friends on a video screen. Instant messages can also be sent through Google chat box. The size of the video screen can be changed according to user's wish. The screen can be expanded or reduced accordingly. The user can also take out the video screen from the chat box and place it on the computer's screen. The new features of Google's Gmail are likely to give tough competition to the likes of eBay's Skype.

According to the spokesperson of Google Inc, Jason Freidenfelds, the new features are added in Gmail so that people can communicate by watching each other. He added that the new features will make communication easier and quicker. The new facility needs web cam and small web browser to be incorporated in the computer. However, users who do not have webcam in their PCs can still chat with their friends through voice chat facility.
