One of the most popular tourist spots in India, Goa which is the land of sun-kissed beaches is also turning out to be the most expensive destination in India, state the tour operators. The reasons are many such as hike in aviation fuel prices, rising inflation and increase in insurance premiums that have caused escalation in the rates of tour packages proffered by charter and scheduled tour operators to up to 100 per cent.

A representative of scheduled flight operator Condor, Bush Miranda recently informed that last year the tickets that cost $700 have now escalated up to $1,300. 'The season this year will be expensive,' states Miranda before adding that there nevertheless will not be much of a change in the amount of visitors to Goa. Bush Miranda also informs that Goa in India is being hailed by tour operators as the fifth most fetching tourist destination in world as well as the most expensive one this year.
