Goa Express and Mewar Express collided during the wee hours of Wednesday morning near Mathura claiming the lives of 10. It is feared that about 50 people have been injured. Several people are reported to be trapped inside.
About 5 trains have been cancelled on the route, with 6 trains diverted.
The injured have been shifted to Mathura and Vrindavan hospitals. Army may be called in for proceeding with the rescue operations.
The Vasco-da-Gama-Nizamuddin Goa Express hit the Udaipur City-Nizamuddin Mewar Express from behind at around 4:45 AM, Rajesh Vajpayee, CPRO North-Central Railway said.
