With the Italian Giancarlo Fisichella of Force India grabbing the pole position for the Belgium Grand Prix, Force India has tasted its first sweet victory. This amazing display has left everyone stunned, including the owner of Force Idnia, Vijay Mallya,
"I am so proud of Giancarlo, the team in the garage and the factory and also for the entire Indian nation," he said. "There is nothing more to say. We've done both ourselves and the country proud”, he added.
The sweet entry of Force India to the first qualifying session looks like a fairytale outing as even the traditional favourites had a tough time to make it to the Q1.
But with Fisichella's previous best qualifying this season had been a 13th place in Monaco, this win was not just an incidental one.
"It feels great, like a dream," said the 36-year-old Roman, adding that "What a result. I am now not only looking for points but for more. We've got this far and we need to finish the job”.
Teammate Adrian Sutil also nearly made it to the Q1 as well before falling just shy of the mark. Sutil will start 11th tomorrow.
