The President of the United States, George W Bush will be traveling to Israel to participate in the country’s 60th anniversary revelry. During this trip, President Bush hopes to infuse some impetus into the peace deliberations being currently pursued between Israel and Palestine. He had recently talked on the present status quo between the Israelis and Palestinians in a Television interview and termed it as unacceptable.
In that interview, the US President had remarked that he will request both Israel and Palestine to come to an agreement on a future Palestinian state by the year end. Condoleezza Rice, the US Secretary of State commented on Tuesday 13 May that agreeing to such a deal in the coming months may be ‘improbable but it's not impossible’. During his five-day trip, the US President is also scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
