GE Healthcare on Friday (May 8) unveiled its two low-cost medical equipments, designed at its Bangalore facility. Speaking to media, GE India President and CEO Tejpreet S. Chopra said that healthcare arm of General Electric (GE) has planned to spend $2 billion to finance healthcare information technology in rural and underserved areas. He also informed that the company will investment about $6 billion on its global strategy.
 
Speaking more about GE's India initiative, Chopra informed that at least 50 low-cost equipment will be launched under company's ‘Healthymagination’ programme in India. In addition to it, GE Healthcare will introduce 100 innovations worldwide, added Chopra. The company has planned to invest $18 billion across the world to design more eco-friendly products.
 
The two medical products launched in Bangalore include Lullaby Baby Warmer and LOGIQ P3. The first equipment has been designed to prevent infant deaths in developing countries. Lullaby Baby Warmer helps to prevent the newborn babies to get exposed to outside air. On the other hand, LOGIQ P3 is a portable ultrasound imaging system. The lightweight medical device offers high-resolution images.
