G8 Group of nations have agreed upon the decision to curb carbon emissions by at least 50% by the year 2050. The consensus of opinion has come as great policy change in the mindset of world leaders who were not able to come to one point solution of the problem of global warming and carbon emission.

This decision by G8 Group of nations has come in an effort to tackle the issue of global warming. Earlier last year, the G8 statement had put forward this vision but that could not be executed. The declaration says that G8 countries have to take the lead through ambitious interim measures and national plans.

However, the United States has ruled out any interim targets to cut down emissions. Here, it’s noteworthy that emerging powerful countries China, India, Mexico, Brazil and S. Africa have asked for an interim measure to curb carbon emissions. What would be the outcome of next level talks between two groups of countries is not yet confirm.
