Yves Saint Laurent, considered among the legends of the French fashion industry, died in his Paris home on Sunday 1 June due to a prolonged illness. He was 71 years old. Yves Saint Laurent is and will always be remembered for rewriting the rules of the French fashion scene, especially of women’s by adding elegant pantsuits to their wardrobe.  

 

A prominent personality of the 20^th century fashion scene, Laurent was looked upon as being amongst the last generation of a group comprising names like Christian Dior and Coco Chanel that turned Paris into the fashion hub of the world. The creation of first YSL tuxedo, trim pantsuits, safari jackets, see through blouses, etc, can be accredited to Yves Saint Laurent. These are hot in the fashion circuit all over the globe even now.
